We did it! We created a company that is all about our clients and their needs, and we are proud to share this first newsletter with you, our client. We have been blessed for many years to have sat at your kitchen tables and to have shared the victories and the trials of life with you and your families. When I left the CPA business back in 2002, it was because I wanted to be able to do more for my clients. Over the last 18 years, you have taught me so much, but more importantly we have grown together. Southern Capital was formed after many years of realizing that the worlds of advice and money management could be and should be tied together. Our goal is to help families understand the relationship between sound financial planning, sound investment selection, and the role that income tax plays not only in overall returns but in the long-term growth of capital.
We often comment on the role that media continues to play in our everyday lives. We are continually encouraging clients to not be drawn in to the “now” of financial decisions. Building wealth over a lifetime is simple, it’s just not easy. We must turn away from what everyone else is doing and understand the most critical decisions in life are based on how we spend our time, our energy, and our money. Being frugal and disciplined and thinking differently from others has always been and will always be the hallmark of building lasting wealth.
Our goal is simple. We want to be a source of education and encouragement for you, your family, and the friends you send our way. This newsletter will provide insights into sound financial planning principles when it comes to retirement savings, spending money in retirement, the financial markets, and educating your children and grandchildren. We will also address the income tax and estate tax laws as they continue to change. We are proud to have added Sandie Neal to our team. Sandie is our inhouse CPA who is responsible for tax planning and tax preparation for our clients. She and I will work together to fill any gaps that need to be addressed with your overall financial plan.
Thank you for the trust you have placed in us, and we look forward to many years of providing you and your family with the advice you need to live your best life.
